The Prophet is a lightweight tactical signals intelligence and electronic warfare system designed to support the US Army division and brigade forces. The HMMWV-mounted Prophet also has a dismounted manpack SIGINT version. It operates stationary and on the move and the 20 feet communications mast is erectable in less than 2 minutes compared to 2-3 hours of legacy systems.

The Prophet is replacing aging AN/TSQ-138 Trailblazer, AN/TRQ-32 Teammate, AN/TLQ-17A Trafficjam, and the AN/PRD-12 systems. The Prophet procurement program is structured in five Blocks. The Block IV and V will apply to the US Army Objective Force requirements.

The Prophet was deployed in secrecy for the first time during operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan (2001). Prophet intercepted enemy transmissions and located its origin.

The US Army plans to procure up to 83 Prophet Electronic Warfare (EW) systems produced by the Titan Corporation. Each division will be equipped with 6 Prophets, cavalry armored regiments 4, Stryker-equipped IBCT 3, and independent brigades 2 Prophets. According to US military, the Prophet provides a frequency coverage 10x compared to current ground-based EW systems.

In July 2005, General Dynamics C4 Systems was awarded a contract to start developing Prophet Block II electronic attack capability. The new capability was expected to be available since May 2007.
